Chill Pro Junior- Todd, Mitch & Harry
West Oz was a pretty fun trip, we victorians like to stick together so it was Harry Mann, Hayden Forrest,Todd Rosewall and I hanging out in the lovely town of Scarborough in perth, West Australia for the Chill Pro Junior that was held at Trigg Beach. Trigg beach is known to be a pretty bad wave and having surfed it last year for the same event my expectations were quite low.
When we arrived at the beach its was pushing knee height and that was supposed to be the peak of the swell for the next 3 days, luckily enough when we got to the beach the next morning for the first day of the event it had picked up slightly and was now pushing waist height. Harry and I were placed in the same heat which was a bit of a bummer, but we both managed to progress through to the next round. Hayden surfed next but struggled to find the waves and placed 4th, Todd was in the last heat of the round which was held off until the next day.
With slightly bigger swell Todd surfed his round 1 heat and had a convincing win and surfed one of the best heats of the round, they then started round 2 where we all had a bit of bad luck and got knocked. Todd was progressing but got an unlucky interference which put him into 3rd place, many people on the beach saw the interference the other way seeing the other surfer took off in the white wash behind Todd.
Although we didn’t get results that we were looking for; overall we all had a good time, the weather was great and we all bagged a bit of prize money from the contest.
Here are some photos that we all took around our adventure in Perth.
